What We Know So Far About The BMW M4
The current BMW M4 (F82) came out in 2014, and that means it's been six years since we’ve had a new model release. So BMW decided to update the M4 for 2021. There are some things we know already and it's those things I will be going over in this blog. This is everything we know about the 2021 M4...so far.
Firstly it is going to have a BIG grille. Yes, I know what you are going to say. “The big grille looks ugly.” and well I completely agree with that statement. All new BMWs come with big ugly grilles that look like they came right from a beaver. In my opinion, the grille just completely ruins the front end of the car.
One thing that really surprised me was that it comes standard with a 6-speed manual gearbox. The 8-speed auto is an optional extra. This is super cool considering that only 16% percent of cars in the U.S. come with manual transmissions #savethemanuals.
The new M4 will be powered by a 3.0 liter twin-turbo inline 6. This engine is very similar to the last generation M4, which also has a 3.0 liter twin-turbo inline 6. However. this new version of the inline 6 makes 473 horsepower and 442 pound-feet of torque. It has also been made stronger and more reliable with better and longer-lasting metals.
There have been some renders that look like they could be the new M4. The one that I believe is the most accurate render is by Car Magazine UK. It’s very close to the leaked pictures that people have found with the big grille and the edgy design. Personally I think the new body style looks pristine and edgy but the only downside is, you guessed it, that grille. As I said before it just ruins the whole front of the car. If the grill was shorter this would be my favorite looking BMW ever.
The price will start at $71k, which is not a bad deal considering its main rival the Mercedes AMG C63 S costs $77k. But personally I think that the BMW M4 is way better than the AMG C63 S because the M4 looks way better.
I think this car will be a really cool addition to the BMW lineup when it comes out. Obviously there is still lots more to learn before we get the final product, but I hope we see a new M4 soon and that it doesn't disappoint.
