The Singer Re-design 911

The Singer Re-design 911

One of the bad parts about the 1990 Porsche 911 is that it’s a little bit slow and dated by today's standards. Well, now there’s a solution from a company called Stinger Vehicle Design which  remade the old Porsche and they’ve done it incredibly well.

In my opinion one of the greatest design elements of the new Porsche Singer Redesign is the interior. It has a retro racing theme in the cabin with retro Recaro seats and vintage race wheel. Everything in the interior is handcrafted, even down to the dials and AC vents. But, there are two things that really stand out in the interior. Firstly, the perfect stitching that can be customized in any color, and secondly the roll cage that they put in all of their vehicles. There’s just something about this interior that speaks racecar, and I love it.

The next thing that I think Singer did one heck of a job on is the engine. If you get the sport engine package, Stinger will bore out the engine from 2.0 liters all the way to 3.9 liters. They will also add more performance parts that give the Singer 911 a whopping 400 horsepower, which compared with how light the car is makes the Stinger one of the best drivers cars.

One of the downsides of the re-imagined Singer 911 is how much it costs to obtain one. For the base model it costs nealy $200k and that's just for the restoration and upgrades. You also have to give them an old 911 which can set you back another $15k-$35k depending on the condition. Also you can get certain customizable options that can make the entire build and restoration above $300k. So they're very expensive and when you have enough money, you'll find it very hard to get your hands on one.

But, there is just something about a restored and upgraded 90s Porsche with it’s  straight line speed and incredible cornering ability. They are fun to drive and insanely good looking on the interior. I would say this is one of the greatest restored cars you can buy today. It may be expensive but it is definitely worth it.
