The first Gen Miata or N/A is the most popular Miata. In 1989 Mazda wanted to produce a small, lightweight, and affordable sports car. In just close to 7 months they already had a prototype. They called it the N/A Miata.

A couple of months later it debuted at the 1989 Chicago Auto Show. People saw the Miata and loved it. There were may sold and it quickly had a huge fan base. The small inline 4 produced 116 horsepower and 110-pound feet of torque. This was perfect for the little RWD roadster.

Since this is a perfect small sized car, people love to modify them. They were especially good for drifting because of the 50:50 weight distribution. It also came with the POP-UP HEADLIGHTS which was one of the things people loved about this car.

In 1998 we got the second-gen Miata, or the N/B this was a newer and faster version of the N/A but the main reason this car is so cool is that Mazda made a MazdaSpeed model. This MazdaSpeed version also had a turbo. This was the Only MX-5 that you could get a turbo with. The MazdaSpeed Model made 178 horsepower and 166-pound feet of torque from a single turbo inline 4.

The third-gen Miata or N/C was kind of a fail. No one really bought them. They had lower horsepower than the entry-level of the N/B. It also had no special editions or sporty versions. It was also around for 10 years without many changes or upgrades. The small inline 4 produced 126 horsepower and 140 pound-feet of torque. It was definitely not a fast sports car.

The current fourth-gen Miata or N/D is one of the best little roadsters that you can get today. It is light and sporty. Every person who has driven this car says it feels nimble and sharp. This year is 30 years of the Miata, so Mazda made a special edition. The 30 years Edtion. This will come with race orange paint, 5-Speed manual and a little bit more power than normal. The base MX-5 has 155 horsepower and 151-pound feet of torque, an, just like the N/A, it has a 50:50 weight distribution.

The Miata is an amazing little car. There are many car meets and clubs just for Miatas. Every Miata owner loves their car. They’re just amazing. This car has so much love and a great fan base. So, as everyone says “The Miata is always the answer.”
